Pakhowal Road ROB may be ready by I-Day

Ludhiana: To provide the much-needed relief to the city residents, the civic authorities have now asked the contractor to complete the Pakhowal Road railway overbridge/railway underbridge (ROB/RUB) project by August 15 at any cost. After wasting a lot of time in getting the necessary approvals, the work was recently started at the site.
The construction of ROB near Hero Bakery Chowk and RUB near Pakhowal Road railway crossing is still pending and project has missed several deadlines.
Municipal corporation (MC) commissioner Shena Aggarwal and Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi on Friday also inspected the ongoing work at the site and directed the contractor to expedite the work. Detailed discussions were held with contractor Deepak Singal, and he was directed to complete the project by August 15.
The contractor was also asked to depute more machinery and staff at the site to ensure timely completion, besides submitting regular progress reports with the MC.
Irked by the delay, the city residents had recently organised a prayer meeting at the site, seeking divine intervention for fast completion of the project. tnn
