THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will formally inaugurate the
Kerala emergency medicine summit (KEMS 2023) on Saturday. While speaking at the three-day summit which began on Friday, health minister Veena George said the summit is being held to strengthen comprehensive emergency and trauma care.
She said efforts are on to make expert emergency treatment available to all. The health department is implementing a quality improvement initiative in all medical college hospitals to ensure quality and timely emergency care for critical patients.
The apex trauma and emergency learning center in Thiruvananthapuram was recently sanctioned Rs 2.27 crore to purchase advanced equipment. The summit is being conducted by including experts in the medical field from different parts of the world.
