Gurgaon official caught accepting Rs 5,000 bribe by ACB
A special ACB team was formed which nabbed Gajraj Singh late Friday night while accepting the bribe.
GURUGRAM: An assistant manager of the horticulture wing of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) was arrested red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000, an official of ACB said on Saturday.
Jitender Kumar, the spokesperson of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Gurugram, said Gajraj Singh, a resident of village Kankrola, was caught demanding the first installment of a monthly bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant.
According to ACB, the complainant, a meat seller, had filed a complaint to it alleging Gajraj Singh of GMDA was asking him for a bribe to allow him to set up an illegal meat shop at a chowk in Sector 90 area.
Following the complaint, a special team was formed which nabbed Gajraj Singh late Friday night while accepting the bribe.
"The ACB team has started a further investigation by registering a case against the accused officer under Prevention of Corruption Act at ACB Police Station, Gurugram. The accused is being produced in a city court," Jitender Kumar said.
