The state health authorities have directed the government hospitals across five districts of Nashik division to mandatorily conduct Covid-19 tests of patients visiting the health hubs with influenza-like illness (ILI) or severe acute respiratory infection (SARI). The direction followed a rise in Covid-19 cases in the Nashik division. “People visiting government hospitals with complaints of persistent cough, cold and headache should be compulsorily screened for Covid-19 infection by using Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs),” Dr Kapil, the state deputy director of the health department (Nashik circle), said.
