Doctor thrashed by patient's family over treatment in emergency ward of Bhuj Hospital, 2 booked

Rajkot: In another case of violence against doctors, two attendants allegedly trashed a doctor on duty over dissatisfaction with their patient's treatment in the emergency ward of GK General Hospital, Bhuj, on Wednesday night.
Based on the doctor’s complaint, the duo has been booked by the police for allegedly thrashing the victim and using abusive words to other doctors at the hospital.
The duo created a ruckus at the hospital when they found that their patient (who was brought to the emergency department on Wednesday night) had not received proper medical treatment claiming that the doctor was negligent.
Angered by the action of the doctor, the attendants confronted the doctor who was in charge of the patient. They began to thrash the doctor and started abusing him. This led to an altercation and the duo began beating and slapping the doctor.
The doctor also hurt his head in the altercation. When the situation went overboard, another doctor on duty tried to calm the patient’s kin, but they hurled abusive words at him too.
Following this, security guards tried to take them away but they continued their action until one of them vandalized the property of the police output outside the hospital. Later, the relatives fled away from the scene, TOI reports.
Likewise, doctors protested against the aggressive behaviour of patients' relatives by going on a token strike.
A complaint was lodged by the doctor at B division police of Bhuj city under IPC sections 323, 294 (b), 506 (2), 427 and 114 and the duo was booked.
