Pakyong, 18 March : The man was driving a silver car on a busy road and was continuously talking on his phone when he was spotted by the two mounted police officers, according to a video shared online by the Avon and Somerset Police.

The caption of the video states that the police department is running an operation to reduce the risks posed by drivers using their phones while driving. The driver was stopped on East Reach in Taunton and will now face a fine of £200 and six points on his license.

In the video, the horseback officer can be seen addressing the driver, telling him, “You know you shouldn’t be using your phone,” while looking down at him. The driver responded by saying, “No, no music. I have a problem.” The officer then asked, “But you’re driving and you’re on the phone, and I can see that there’s a phone call ongoing.”

According to a report by The Metro News, a spokesperson for the Avon and Somerset Police said that the footage of the horses was filmed on March 7, and they were unsure if the horses were deliberately deployed for mobile phone enforcement or if they happened to see the incident and responded accordingly.
