Jaipur: Relaunching protesting against right to health (RTH) bill as sate government has stepped up efforts to get it passed in state assembly, Indian Medical Association (state branch) and Joint Action committee (JAC) against right to health (an umbrella organisation of private hospitals) on Friday night announced complete boycott of health schemes of state government, including Chiranjeevi health insurance scheme and
Rajasthan government health scheme from 8am of Saturday and they will observe complete bandh of healthcare facilities in private hospitals from 8pm on Saturday across the state.
The private hospitals’ body, JAC against RTH bill, which had earlier, reached an agreement with the state government and postponed the protest, has now joined the call of protest launched by other faction, Private hospitals and nursing homes society, which has been demanding that no such “right to health” bill should be tabled in the state assembly, with a slogan, “no to RTH”.
“Our demands have not been fulfilled by the state government. We had postponed boycott of government’s health scheme earlier, but now we have decided to end it and we are again boycotting government’s health schemes from Saturday 8am and also we will observe complete bandh of private hospitals including emergency service from 8pm on Saturday,” said Dr Sunil Chugh, president IMA (state) and chairperson JAC against RTH.
IMA (state branch) had written to state’s chief secretary Usha Sharma requesting her to add and rectify all their suggestions and demands in the said bill.
