PATNA: District administration on Thursday discussed the preparations for maintaining law and order on the occasion of Ram Navami to be celebrated on March 30.
After attending a meeting with representatives of the Mahavir Temple trust committee and other religious organisations at the temple premises, the district magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Rajeev Mishra said arrangements for peaceful celebration and devotees’ facility were among the top priorities of the administration.
The meeting was also attended by the retired IPS officer Acharya Kishore Kunal, municipal corporation and administrative officers for working in coordination to make the occasion festive and peaceful. Crowd management, traffic, barricading and other facilities to help the devotees offer prayers were also discussed.
Facilities for drinking water, sanitation, healthcare and surveillance by CCTV cameras were also discussed in the meeting.
Meanwhile, president of the welcome committee of Ramnavami Shobha Yatra Sardar Jagjivan Singh Babloo and its former secretary-cum-Bankipur MLA Nitin Nabin said altogether 51 tableaux presenting various glimpses on life and deeds of Lord Ram would be taken out from different localities as a part of the religious celebration.
The welcome committee leaders appealed the devotees to put up ‘Ram Dhwaj’ (flags) atop their houses for creating festive and devotional environment that day.
“Preparations are also afoot to put up over a lakh small and large religious flags in the city and distribute one lakh Hindu new year calendar to people on Ram Navami,” Babloo said.
Another highlight of the occasion will be a grand ‘aarti’ on tunes of 51 ‘damroo’, an ancient musical instrument, at Dak Bungalow Roundabout, he said.
