Two arrested for killing friend over purchasing liquor in Jaipur

JAIPUR: Two tipplers crushed the head of their 50-year-old friend during a brawl over who would step out to buy liquor in Taron ki Koot near B2 Bypass in Sanganer on Thursday.
Saganer station house officer (SHO) Mahendra Singh Yadav said that police have arrested Om Prakash Saini (36), and Narsi Lal (33) for the murder of Chanchal Yogi on Thursday. "We received information at 8.30 am that a man has been found dead in a plot of land. The owner told us that the victim has lived in a makeshift room in the same plot for five years now. We examined the crime scene and found multiple blood spots," he said.
A team of FSL experts led by senior scientific officer Abhay Pratap Singh examined collected samples from the scene. "There was a trail of blood that began from the makeshift room and led straight to the place where his body was found," Singh said.
Talking to TOI, Yadav sid that police teams also called a dog squad to the scene for examination, "We also discovered a lot of empty bottles at the scene and some leftover food. We concluded that some people had gathered at the house and consumed liquor. We tracked them down and found that a huge fight broke out between the three of them on Wednesday night" he said.
Police learnt that the accused wanted more liquor and nudged the victim to go out and purchase some from the market on Wednesday night. However, it led to a heated tussle in which one of the accused allegedly attacked Yogi with a shovel.
"They realized that the accused was injured in the attack and might tell others about the incident. So the two accused decided to finish the job and murdered Yogi by attacking him. They fled from the scene to evade cops,' said an official.
Police said that the victim was a native of Assam and had been working as a labourer in Jaipur for the past 25 years now."He worked under a contractor and fitted tiles. He was a very skilled worker," the official added.
