SURAT: The number of fresh Covid-19 cases recorded in Surat district
rose to 13 Thursday. A day earlier, six new cases were reported. Of the 13 new cases, 10 were from the city while three were from Surat district.
With the increase in Covid-19 the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) started the central control room to monitor the spread of cases at the Integrated Command and Control Centre. The Covid-19 related data will be gathered and entered into the system by trained staff.
“The number of cases will increase for a few days and it will come under control soon since the patients are not suffering severe health complications. The spread is also not fast like previous waves,” said an SMC health official.
In Surat city, three cases were reported from Limbayat ward and two each in Athwa and Katargam wards. One case each was found in Varachha-A, Rander and Central zones of the city.
In Surat district, two cases were reported from Olpad taluka while one person was found infected in Bardoli.
According to the health officials of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), there were 29 active Covid-19 cases in the city with no hospitalization.
