Mysuru: Hours after Jatra mahotsava concluded on Tuesday at the Mahadeshwaraswamy Temple at Chunchanahalli in Nanjangud, burglars have robbed money from the hundi (offering box) in the night. The theft came to light early on Wednesday when temple authorities came to open the temple doors. The management committee was supposed to count the offerings received on a special day, but the miscreants had looted the offering box after breaking it open. The temple gets a large number of devotees on special occasions. Mysuru district police have taken up a case.
12% of women employed in manufacturing: Study
Mysuru: A study has indicated that only 12% of women are employed in the manufacturing sector in the state, said L Gandhi, principal researcher, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD). The study, which was carried out by the SDMIMD and BCIC Office, Bengaluru, recently, aims at providing a workable framework to address the issue of limited women's participation in the manufacturing sector. The framework was evolved after an in-depth analysis of the available data and materials alongside interactions with the industry leaders, he said. The study is confined to the manufacturing sector in Karnataka.
