We are a week away from the Nothing Ear 2 launch and as it usually happens, details have started to surface through leaks as well as official teasers. In an exclusive conversation with Forbes, Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, revealed a few details about the second-generation earbuds.

Pei revealed Nothing Ear 2 would come with LHDC Audio 5.0 (Low Latency HD Audio Codec) support. This will allow the earphones to play any hi-res certified audio through Bluetooth. The earbuds will also have an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. He went on to add they sold one-third of Nothing Ear 1 units in the United States. This is the reason they are ready to launch the Nothing Phone 2 in the country as well.

If we talk about the leak, The Tech Outlook publication has teamed up with tipster @OnLeaks to share a bunch of Nothing Phone 2 renders and a few other details. The company is continuing with the semi-transparent design it debuted last year. This is a design that makes the earbuds stand out in the crowd. The wireless charging case is completely transparent which has also been carried forward from the previous year.

The stem of the earbuds has the "Nothing Ear (2)" branding which will let users know they have the latest model. Other than this, the overall design is essentially unchanged from the predecessor. These are said to come with the same 11.6mm sound drivers as last year. The battery life is said to offer up to 6 hours of playback time and up to 36 hours with the charging case.

Nothing will offer support for wireless charging as well as through the USB Type-C port. There will be hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) to reduce outside noise. There are no words on the Nothing Ear 2 pricing yet but we are only a week away from all the official details.
