ReutersThe NSE Nifty index ended the session 13.45 points up at 16985.6, while BSE Sensex rose 78.94 points to 57634.84.
In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 6.24 per cent), Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.54 per cent), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 2.33 per cent), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 2.21 per cent) and Titan Company Ltd.(up 2.14 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 5.22 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 3.31 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.54 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.54 per cent) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
