Brooke Shields’ daughters want her to ditch her ‘lady clothes’ and show more skin

We smell a makeover montage coming.

Brooke Shields told People her teenage daughters Rowan, 19, and Grier, 16, want her to trade her “lady” clothes for “edgier” attire.

“They don’t like me in Upper East Side lady clothes,” said the 57-year-old star, whose new documentary, “Pretty Baby,” hits Hulu April 3. “They don’t like that; they like me much edgier.”

Grier, for instance, was “beyond” happy to see her mom try out an “edgy” dress-and-sneakers combo from luxury streetwear label Off-White recently.

“I think it’s the only time she’s ever just marveled [at] and been proud of me,” Shields recalled. “She’s like, ‘How did you know about [Off-White]?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, it just looked really cool.’ She’s like, ‘Mom, do you realize how cool that is? You’re cool.'”

She added that her kids want her to dress “much more rock and roll” — and show “total midriff.”

“I don’t even know what it constitutes, but they’re always like, ‘Mom, you should show your belly,'” said Shields, who famously flashed her abs in her iconic 1980 Calvin Klein campaign.

“I’m like ‘Oh God, no. I don’t want to show my belly.'”

While she hasn’t quite ventured into “total midriff” territory yet, Shields’ recent red carpet looks suggest she’s been taking her daughters’ advice, at least to an extent.

So far this year, she’s stepped out in a series of colorful, curve-hugging knit looks from Dodiee featuring sultry (if small) keyhole cutouts at the abs.

Rowan and Grier were also surely impressed by their mom’s sexy Skims campaign and skin-baring Jordache ads from last year.
