Update 1:00 p.m.: Joe Mixon's sister and his sister's boyfriend have been indicted in connection to a shooting last week in Anderson Township.

Lamonte Brewer is charged with felonious assault, tampering with evidence and having weapons under disability. Shalonda Mixon is charged with tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

Prosecutor Melissa Powers said Joe Mixon had a weapon at the time of the shooting, but did not fire and did not commit a crime.

Powers said multiple juveniles were playing dart wars and that Brewer and others should have been able to tell that the juveniles were carrying toy weapons.

The prosecutor said Brewer used a Zastava pistol, which resembles an AK-47 and fires the same round.

Powers said the Brewer and Shalonda Mixon have not been arrested and their whereabouts are unknown. She said Brewer has a "lengthy" criminal record including drug and weapons offenses as well as "offenses of violence."

Joe Mixon had been receiving death threats and was concerned when he heard people were running around the weapons, Powers said. She said Joe Mixon and was in the yard with Brewer, but that Brewer acting independently.

Original report: Prosecutor Melissa Powers is holding a press conference Thursday afternoon to address last week's Anderson Township shooting near the home tied to Bengals running back Joe Mixon.

The prosecutor's office has not released any details about what will be discussed at the conference.

Shots were fired and a 16-year-old was injured on Ayers Road on the night of March 6.

An incident report from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office did not list Mixon suspect, victim or a person of interest. Mixon's lawyer, Merlyn Shiverdecker, said police reports show Mixon did nothing wrong.

The same report states the shots were fired from the backyard of a home listed as his residence in prior court documents.

It is unclear if Mixon was at the home at the time of the shooting.

Officers at the scene reported a group of juveniles was playing dart wars, a game with a long history at local high schools in which teams shoot each other with foam darts.

Anderson High School confirmed the injured teen was a student there and that the student organizer of the game suspended play after the shooting.

The principal at Turpin High School, in the same district, had issued a warning to students and families in February.

"Many of the Nerf guns and homemade devices resemble a real gun to a person seeing from afar," Principal David Spencer said. "In the world we live in today, that may cause extreme concern and a certain reaction that was unintended by our young adults."

No charges have been filed in the incident. Dispatch reports show the teen was struck by a bullet or bullet fragment in the foot. He initially refused medical treatment stating his father is a doctor but was later taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

The Enquirer is not naming the juveniles involved due to their age. The two "suspects" listed in the incident report are adults but have not been charged.
