HYDERABAD: The Intermediate public examinations commenced on Wednesday, with a staggering 4,82,427 students taking their first year exams. The number of absentees on the first day was 23,198, resulting in an overall absenteeism of 4.5%.
For the Intermediate first-year students, the paper was the second language, while for the vocational students, it was the general foundational course. Most of the students found the first paper relatively easy.
One student, Roshini Sharma from MAM College, even found it fun. "The exam was easy. We could finish it early due to extensive revision beforehand," Roshini Sharma said.
However, not all students shared the same experience, with Durga Rao from Nampally junior college finding the Telugu language paper a bit challenging. Nonetheless, he remained optimistic about his results, aiming to score above average. "I felt the exams were a little tough and it took some time to plan different parts of the paper," Durga Rao said. The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education reported that there were no instances of malpractice, and arrangements were carefully examined in various districts.
Observers were also dispatched to different districts, including Nizamabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Khammam, and Mahabubnagar, to ensure that everything was in order.
The second-year exams will commence on March 16, starting with a second language. The first year students taking the exam this year will attempt the papers with 100% syllabus for the first time after the pandemic.
