Grand fest on anvil as Bhubaneswar turns 75 in April
BHUBANESWAR: The district administration on Wednesday conducted a preparatory meeting ahead to make arrangements for the platinum jubilee celebration of the city.
The officials have planned a three-day celebration, starting from April 13 when Bhubaneswar will turn 75. “This year, the celebration will be bigger and better,” Rajdhani Foundation Day Celebration Committee president Pradosh Patnaik, who attended the meeting, said.
A series of events, starting from a civilian parade from Rabindra Mandap to Jaydev Bhawan here to a photo exhibition, cultural programmes and various competitions, have been planned throughout the three days.
“On April 13, school and college students will take part in the parade,” Patnaik added. As many as 75 groups of students from different educational institutions will take part in the parade. Each group will have 32 students wearing their respective school uniforms. They will also perform in the cultural programme planned by the administration.
