Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:22AM

ADANIGREEN(up 5.00%), Adani Transmissions(up 2.33%), Inox Wind Energy(up 2.13%), Alstom T&D India(up 1.83%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.36%), Torrent Power(up 0.75%), Voltamp Transformers(up 0.21%), NTPC(up 0.20%) and PTC India(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers.

Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 4.32%), PIGL(down 3.81%), Indowind Energy(down 2.65%), Karma Energy(down 2.52%), Inox wind(down 2.27%), JSW Energy(down 1.99%), Reliance Power(down 1.86%), SJVN(down 1.75%), RTNPOWER(down 1.49%) and DPSC(down 1.30%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 39.65 points up at 17011.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 162.64 points at 57718.54 at around 11:22AM.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 4.5%), Titan Company Ltd(up 3.13%), Nestle India(up 2.69%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.32%), Eicher Motors(up 2.01%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.77%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.45%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.43%), Britannia Industries(up 1.28%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.25%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.95%), Tata Steel(down 3.87%), JSW Steel(down 2.65%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.64%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.09%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.85%), ICICI Bank(down 0.52%), Infosys(down 0.5%), UPL Ltd(down 0.5%) and Adani Enterprises(down 0.5%) were trading in the red.
