Fire drill at MC office in Zone B

Ludhiana: In a bid to apprise the officials and employees of municipal corporation (MC) about fire safety, the fire brigade on Wednesday organised a mock drill at MC’s zone-B office near Shingar Cinema.
During the drill, fire fighters apprised the officials of precautions and procedures to be followed in case fire breaks out at the MC office or at their homes. MC joint commissioner Sonam Chaudhary also participated in the drill.
The employees were also apprised about different categories of fire incidents, including those involving flammable liquids, combustible material etc, besides the procedure of operating a fire extinguisher.
Fire safety officer (FSO) Maninder Singh stated that fire safety drills are being held on the directions of MC commissioner Shena Aggarwal, and would also be held in other MC offices soon.
Appreciating the drill, Chaudhary said such mock drills were necessary to ensure safety of residents in offices and houses in case of fire. tnn
