Gold, diamond worth ₹8L, ₹4L cash stolen

Erode: Two unidentified men broke into the house of a granite unit owner at Geetha Nagar in the town and made away with gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs8 lakh, and Rs4.5 lakh cash on Tuesday night. The incident took place when the industrialist was away in Kolkata.
The Veerappanchatram police said the house belonged to S Manjula Devi, 55, of Geetha Nagar. “She was living alone. Her husband Senthil Kumar died 12 years ago and her lone son is in the USA for work.” tnn
