Orders issued to depts on BPL status for Divyangs
Jaipur: Social justice and empowerment minister Tikaram Jully, while replying to a calling attention motion in the state Assembly, said guidelines were not required for extending benefits of BPL category to families of specially-abled pensioners as an order has already been issued. He also said orders have been issued to the energy department, rural development and panchayati raj department and civil supplies and food department to extend benefits to the families of specially-abled pensioners.
Jully was replying to a calling attention motion (under Rule 131) moved by Alwar urban MLA Sanjay Sharma. While replying the minister said directions have been issued to the rural development and panchayati raj department to extend benefits of all schemes of the department to specially-abled pensioners.
“Those who are applying for benefits of BPL category, we are ensuring that facilities are extended to them. Out of 6 lakh specially-abled pensioners, already 5 lakh have been added (auto-inclusion) to the National Food Security Act (NFSA) portal. The process of adding the rest is going on. Instructions have been given to the energy department to provide power subsidy to specially-abled pensioners up to 50 units,” Jully replied.
Hemant Bhai Goyal, national vice president of Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh, had written to chief minister Ashok Gehlot in this regard. “The department has not issued any guidelines for the scheme. Due to this, there is a confusion among these families about the benefits of the scheme.
