Taleigao: V.M. Salgaocar College defeated P.C.C.E Verna by nine wickets in a highly anticipated match of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Cricket Championship Men, at Goa University ground, Taliegao, on Thursday.

Verna could only manage 84 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Yash Muzumdar scored 21 runs off 27 balls while Vikas Yadav contributed 18 runs off 32 balls.

However, their efforts were not enough to set a challenging target for V.M. Salgaocar College.

In the second innings, V.M. Salgaocar College chased down the target with ease, scoring 87 runs for the loss of just one wicket in a mere eight overs.

Nikhil Ganpule was the star of the innings, scoring 34 runs off just 25 balls, while Rajat Morajkar played a supporting role with 22 runs off 20 balls. Nirav Dessai was the only wicket-taker for P.C.C.E. Verna, dismissing Rajat Morajkar for 22 runs and giving away 22 runs in his two overs.
