3-year-old video of celebratory firing lands man in police net in Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD: A 25-year-old youth was arrested on Tuesday after a video of him firing in the air at a marriage gathering in Vijay Nagar was circulated on social media.
According to police, the accused, Praveen Kumar alias Mintu, who is seen firing six times in the seven-second video, is the brother of Kuldeep Kumar, former Ghaziabad's president of BSP.
Anshu Jain, ACP-1 said the initial probe showed the video was recorded three years back and resurfaced on Tuesday. Immediately, a police team was formed to investigate into the matter and nab Mintu. “On Tuesday evening, we arrested him from Vijay Nagar,” she said.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Kumar said the video is three-year-old and a fake one. It was circulated to frame his brother, he claimed.
