GURGAON: Were cops in Nuh aware of the abduction and assault of Nasir and Junaid, allegedly by cow vigilantes, before they were taken to Bhiwani?
Haryana police said on Wednesday Nuh ASP Usha Kundu is conducting this inquiry and they are waiting for their counterparts in Rajasthan to make arrests in the murder case.
The charred bodies of Nasir (25) and Junaid (39), residents of Ghatmeeka village Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, were found in Bhiwani on February 16.
Their family had alleged that the two men were chased, abducted and thrashed by cow vigilantes, who later took them to the CIA station in Firozpur Jhirka, where cops refused to take them into custody after seeing their injuries.
While the case related to the deaths is being probed by Bharatpur police, Nuh police had constituted a committee under ASP Kundu to investigate the accusation against the CIA team.
“The committee under ASP Usha Kundu is investigating the allegations levelled by the family members of Junaid and Nasir about the role of Nuh police. The committee is waiting for the arrest of the rest of the accused by Rajasthan police as the accused will only be able to tell the committee about the entire incident. We will ensure strict action if anyone is found guilty,” Nuh SP Varun Singla had said.
When asked about the probe, ASP Kundu told TOI the “investigation is ongoing”.
