- JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) has started flight services from Orlando International Airport to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
- The airline plans to add up to 200 low-fare flights to the central Florida airport by 2027 after its planned acquisition of Spirit Airlines (NYSE:SAVE).
- However, the acquisition has hit roadblocks, most recently with the Dept. of Justice's lawsuit to block the $3.8 billion deal. The case was reassigned to a new judge earlier this month after it was been assigned to U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin, who was also overseeing the DOJ's lawsuit challenging the Northeast Alliance, where the government is trying to end an alliance between American Airlines (AAL) and JetBlue (JBLU) over the Northeast corridor.
- JetBlue (JBLU) is trading around +2.5% on Thursday just before 12pm ET.
