Mines dept to create roadmap for auctions

Jaipur: From the beginning of next financial year, the mines department will put in place a quarterly auction plan to achieve its annual targets. The department will study the system adopted in Odisha and a team will visit the eastern state to identify the best practices.
While taking a review meeting of the department, ACS mines and petroleum Subodh Agarwal said they will prepare an annual roadmap for auction mimes blocks and set quarterly milestones to achieve the target.
Besides, Agarwal said a team of high-level officials of the department will study the Odisha model so that the best practices there can be adopted if found useful in the context of Rajasthan.
Adoption of innovation is another area the department is keen to focus. Agarwal said the department has started a series of virtually open dialogue every month regarding special minerals and arrangements, so that all the officers of the department can share their experiences with each other, as well as the changes happening in the country and the world.
The review meeting also took up the issue of mine safety and silicosis. The department is conducting silicosis check-up and awareness camps as well as inspection of mines to ensure compliance with mines safety norms, said Agarwal.
