Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.47% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:17AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Tata Consultancy(up 0.92 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.72 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.69 per cent), Infosys(up 0.38 per cent) and HCL Technologies(up 0.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge(down 0.3 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.26 per cent), Wipro(down 0.11 per cent) and Persistent Systems(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.47 per cent at 28920.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 80.65 points at 17123.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 232.88 points at 58133.07.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, PNB and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Foseco India, Ramkrishna Forg, Technocraft Ind, Vera Synthetic and Tapi Fruit Processing Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ballarpur Inds., Sun Pharma Adv Res., Goenka Diamond, SMVD Poly Pack and Suumaya Lifestyle hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
