Al Roker’s got a new role!
The “Today” show weatherman is going to be a grandpa, with his daughter Courtney Roker announcing her pregnancy on Tuesday.
“A new adventure is about to begin β€οΈπΌ,” the recipe developer captioned an Instagram video of herself and husband Wesley Laga.
In the touching footage, the couple documented an ultrasound appointment and celebrated their expanding family.
“Here we go!!!” Al, 68, commented on the social media upload. “So very very happy!!!!! You guys.”
The NBC personality noted that he wants his future grandchild to call him “Pop-Pop.”
His wife, Deborah Roberts, gushed, “This is so very exciting!!! ππ”
Courtney, 35, told Today.com how “truly blessed” she and Laga feel about their upcoming arrival.
“We are extremely excited to welcome a new member into our family and start this next chapter in our lives,” the test kitchen manager, who married Laga in June 2021, gushed.
The expectant star noted that she is “feeling great and [the] baby is healthy.”
Al adopted Courtney in 1987 with his ex-wife, Alice Bell. After moving on with Deborah, the couple welcomed daughter Leila, 24, and son Nick, 20.
The journalist’s family has had a tumultuous year, with Nicholas starting college in August 2022 and Al suffering a major health scare three months later.
After being hospitalized for blood clot complications and internal bleeding in November 2022, Al had his colon resectioned, his gallbladder removed and the duodenum in his small intestine redone.
