Will stage dharna against toll collection: Vishwanath

Mysuru: Days after the formal launch of Bengaluru-Nidaghatta section of the Rs 8,478 crore Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway project by Prime Minister Modi, senior leader AH Vishwanath on Tuesday said he will stage a dharna at Manipal Hospital junction, which is the starting point of the expressway in the city, on March 17.
Speaking to reporters, he opposed collection of toll saying the road is not yet completed. He said the expressway is built unscientifically leading to accidents. Vishwanath said that 93 people have lost their lives after the state highway was upgraded.
He alleged contractors, who are known to Mysuru MP Pratap Simha, have supplied materials to build the road. Simha received money from the contractors who executed the project, he said. TNN
