Mangaluru: BJP MLA from Mangaluru City North Y Bharath Shetty and former MLA from the same constituency B A Mohiuddin Bava from the Congress have begun mudslinging ahead of assembly polls.
MLA Shetty had accused seat aspirants from the Congress, including Bava, of discarding the prasadam received from temples before boarding the car during campaigns. Meanwhile, Bava on Tuesday dared Shetty to come for a truth
test at Dharmasthala temple on this.
“I believe in temples and I have not discarded the parasadam. I do not discriminate against people on the lines of caste and religion. I am ready for an open discussion on the grants given to temples and Narayana Guru Mandira during my tenure as the MLA of Mangaluru North constituency,” Bava said and accused MLA Shetty of discriminating against people on the basis of religion.
Let the MLA stop giving immature statements for his political mileage, he said. TNN
