LUCKNOW: The Yogi 2.0 government will complete one year on March 25. The government is planning a major event to mark its anniversary. In addition to a press conference in Lucknow, smaller press meetings will be held in all districts where ministers will speak about the achievements of the government over the past one year.
In Lucknow, the CM, accompanied by both deputy CMs and senior BJP organisational heads, will recount the successes of his government, including the fact that he is the longest serving UP CM.
A government spokesperson said several press conferences will be organized in districts under the leadership of the minister in charge to mark the occasion. “In the press conference to be held in the state capital, Yogi, deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, state organisation general secretary Dharampal Singh and other party officials will be present.
The CM will present the achievements of his government over the past six years in front of the public,” he said. These are likely to include the investment-friendly environment created in the state due to the improved law and order and the opportunities for employment and self-employment that will be generated from them, the spokesperson added.
At the district level, local MPs, MLAs, MLCs and district panchayat president will also be present. If a minister incharge of a district is not present to address the press conference, it will be taken up by the MP, MLA, MLC, district panchayat president or district president concerned.
BJP came to power in UP for a second consecutive term in 2022, winning 255 seats in the assembly elections. Yogi set a record by taking oath as CM for a second consecutive term after a gap of 37 years and, on March 1, 2023, became the longest serving UP CM. March 25 will mark six years and six days of Yogi Adityanath as UP CM.
The state’s first CM, Govind Ballabh Pant, could be regarded as the longest serving of the region, except his tenure got divided between CM of United Provinces till January 24, 1950, and CM of Uttar Pradesh, which was formed on January 24, 1950. As CM of the newly formed state, he was in power for a continuous period of 4 years 336 days.
