Ludhiana: Police arrested three teenagers for allegedly gangraping a 16-year-old girl. Two of the accused are yet to be arrested. The girl was friends with one of the accused and had gone to his house to meet him. The other boys were already present there. When she saw them, she tried to leave the house but they overpowered her. An FIR has been lodged against the four accused, aged 16 and 17, under Sections 376-D (gangrape) of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The FIR was lodged on the complaint of the girl's mother. She said that she noticed that her daughter had been upset for some time. On Monday, when she talked to her, she said that one of the accused, who is her friend, took her to his house. When she reached the house, she saw three other boys. On seeing them, she said she tried to leave but the accused overpowered her and gangraped her. She said they also warned her against telling anyone.
Her mother filed a police complaint. Inspector Bittan Kumar said that the boy who had taken the girl to her house used to study with her. The accused are minor school dropouts. Police have registered a case .
