NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man was found dead in a hotel room in south Delhi’s Neb Sarai, police said on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Rahul (23), who lived in Devli.
On Saturday, Rahul stayed in the hotel with one Sourav and checked out the next day. “On Sunday, he again checked into the hotel alone and later his body was found hanging,” an officer said.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, police found that a person staying in the same hotel was impersonating a cop.
While checking the CCTV footage to investigate the suicide case, police found a man entering the hotel wearing a police uniform. The accused, a civil defence volunteer, had been living in the hotel for several days with one woman. He posed as a constable posted at Jyoti Nagar police station. He was questioned and asked to show his identity card, but he failed to produce it. He was identified as Nabab Singh.
Police also found that the hotel was running for one year without a valid licence.
