E-scooter battery explodes,guts fridge, TV, furniture

Mandya: A fire broke out at a house in Valagerahalli village of Nagamangala taluk after the battery of an electric scotter parked on its premises exploded while it was being charged on Sunday night. However, no one was injured.
The incident occurred at the house of one Muthuraju. Home appliances like television, refrigerator, etc, furniture and food items were gutted, and the loss was estimated to be Rs 5 lakh.
Muthuraju reportedly bought the electric scooter seven months ago.
He told the cops that soon after the battery of the two-wheeler exploded, all the family members rushed out of the house.
A case has been registered at Maddur police station in connection with the incident.
