Baramulla: Army organises a weapons exhibition to inspire the youth to join the army

The Indian army organised a 'know your army exhibition' at the Showkat Ali stadium in Baramulla. The event by the 46RR Himalayan brigade under the aegis of the Dagger Division was organised as a mark of respect to soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country. Infantry and Artillery weapons were on display. The event the army said was organised with the aim to motivate the youth to join the armed forces. Army-men were seen explaining the functioning and utility of various weapons to the visitors. The exhibition had a visible impact on the people who came to see it. Some visitors could also be seen taking selfies with the weapons. Attendees at the exhibition said that these types of shows could potentially discourage youth in the valley from turning to terrorism.
