TMC to use govt land in Thane for cluster redvpt

THANE: The Thane municipal corporation will identify and use vacant state government lands in Thane for constructing residential buildings under the ambitious cluster redevelopment project in a bid to fast track relocation of beneficiaries, municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar said.
Chief minister Eknath Shinde said residents were hesitant to migrate to transit camps and so the state has decided to eliminate the step of having transit structures and ensure beneficiaries directly get possession of their new homes.
