Cop hangs self in Kandhamal dist

Berhampur: A 55-year-old police constable was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room in the barracks inside Tikabali police station in Kandhamal on Monday. The deceased was identified as Srinibash Ghotala, a resident of Phulbani town who had been serving at Tikabali police station two years back.
The exact cause is yet to be known, there is suspicion he was depressed for some months. He used to stay alone while his family — live in Phulbani. “The body was sent for postmortem at the district headquarters hospital in Phulbani,” said DTR Patnaik, SDPO, G Udayagiri. “A probe is on to find the reason that drove him to kill himself,” he added.
