Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty ended 111.0 points down at 17043.3, while the BSE Sensex closed 337.66 points down at 57900.19.
On the other hand, Zen Tech, Binani Ind, AB Infrabuild, Hariom Pipe Industries Ltd. and Tarmat Ltd stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.
In the Nifty 50 index, BPCL, Titan Company, Bharti Airtel, L&T and SBI Life were among the top gainers on the NSE in the today's trade.
