ROURKELA: A Class VIII student of Dengula High School in Sundargarh district died on Sunday night after he suffered burn injuries when hot dal fell on him while he was helping cook of the hostel seven days ago. The Sundargarh district welfare officer reached the school on Monday and has started an inquiry into the death of the student.
The school, situated in Koida block, is run under SC&ST development department. According to sources, on March 6 evening, the student, identified as Gelet Niranjan Hanhaga (14), had gone near the kitchen of the hostel.
