Class XII Tamil paper easy, with some tricky questions
Coimbatore: As many as 34,199 students from the district wrote Tamil papers on the first day of the state Class XII board exams on Monday.
Students said 14 one-mark questions were difficult. Teachers clarified that the questions were not from the exercises in the book, and students who understood basic concepts could have answered them.
A total of 1,628, including 888 boys, who were issued hall tickets, did not appear for the exam on Monday.
A total of 8,225 students from 36 schools in the Pollachi educational district and 27,572 students from 86 schools in the Coimbatore educational district wrote the exam in 128 centres on Monday. One centre in Pollachi and five in Coimbatore were operated for private candidates. Of the 770 registered private candidates, 697 appeared for the exam on Monday.
Collector Kranti Kumar Pati inspected Ramakrishnapuram Corporation Higher Secondary School at Ramanathapuram during the exam on Monday.
Talking to reporters, he said 180 flying squads will conduct surprise checks during the exams. “A total of 186 disabled candidates wrote the exam on Monday. Arrangements were made for them. They will get additional one hour for writing the exams. Based on the needs, scribes were allotted for some of them.”
Corporation commissioner M Prathap visited Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School at RS Puram and inspected arrangements made for the exam.
