The Uttarakhand Government is going to give a relief of Rs 49 crore to the families of deceased defaulters of cooperative societies under OTS.

The state cooperative minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat instructed the Registrar of Cooperatives that since the formation of Cooperative Department in undivided Uttar Pradesh, till 2017, 31221 deceased defaulters of cooperative societies owe Rs 123.40 crore in which the principal amount is Rs 74.18 crore and the interest amount is Rs 49.22 crore. The government is considering waiving the interest, he added.
