Kanpur: A 42-year-old suspect has been apprehended by the security personnel from the highly sensitive area of Chakeri Air Force station.
The incident that had taken place on March 6, came to light on March 12, when the Air Force station authorities lodged a complaint with the Chakeri police. According to the police, the suspect is a resident of
Andhra Pradesh, and his interrogation is underway. He has identified himself as Chandvada Chinnaraja, son of Nageswararai. “He is a resident of Tharpu Bazar Gorantla village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh,” the police further said. As per the complaint lodged by the Junior Warrant Officer of Chakeri Air Force station, the suspect was detained on March 6 at around 9 pm while the Air Force guards were patrolling the sensitive area. “During search, one rupee coin has been recovered from his possession,” said in-charge Chakeri police station Ratnesh Singh. The suspect is being interrogated. Cops are facing difficulty in understanding his language, which is probably Telugu. Now the help of language experts will be taken. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of IPC, Singh added. TNN
