4 critically injured as bus overturns in Mayurbhanj
Bhubaneswar: Twenty-five passengers were injured after a bus in which they were travelling overturned on NH-18 near Krushnachandrapur in Mayurbhanj district late on Sunday night. Four among them are critical.
The bus carrying more than 50 passengers was coming from Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district to Bhubaneswar via Baripada and met with an accident around 1.30 am on Monday. Though actual reason of the accident is yet to be known, passengers said the driver lost control over the wheel.
Ambulance deployed on the NH and fire brigade came to the rescue of the injured passengers and took them to the hospital. They were rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital, Baripada. Many passengers were discharged after preliminary treatment.
Betanati police reached the accident spot and seized the bus for further inquiry. Police may inspect relevant documents of the bus too.
