Two-day long international conference on “Shared Buddhist Heritage” began in New Delhi on March 14. The conference focused on India’s civilisational connection with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) nations. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the event in the presence of Meenakashi Lekhi and Arjun Ram Meghwal. G Kishan Reddy honoured the participating delegates from SCO member countries. The event, a first of its kind, under India’s leadership of SCO brings together Central Asian, East Asian, South Asian and Arab countries on a common platform to discuss “Shared Buddhist Heritage”.
