Jaipur: Women and child development minister Mamta Bhupesh on Monday said in the Assembly that the state government has increased the honorarium of anganwadi workers by 45 per cent.
Replying to the debate on the demand for grants of the women and child development department, Bhupesh said the central government is not cooperating with the department in setting up new anganwadi centres and is delaying its share, which hampers the functioning of anganwadis. “I have been writing several letters to them but not even receiving any response,” she said, accusing Opposition MLAs of being silent on this issue.
“We are distributing nutrition kits to anganwadi centres through doorstep delivery. A QR code is levied on nutritional supply invoices. The receipt and distribution of nutrition is being monitored through a mobile app to maintain transparency,” said Bhupesh.
Minister of state for tribal regional development Arjun Singh Bamaniya said smart classes are being set up in 140 tribal hostels and residential schools for the first time to encourage e-content for education and that 20,000 students benefitted from it. TNN
