    2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe

Striking proportions, dramatic surfaces and precisely molded edges define the GLC Coupe's look, Mercedes says.

The next generation of the sporty variant of the Mercedes-Benz GLC compact crossover arrives in Europe in July with an updated electrified powertrain.

The new GLC Coupe will be available in Europe either as a plug-in hybrid or as a mild hybrid.

The mild-hybrid versions include a second-generation integrated starter-generator and a 48-volt on-board electrical system. Three further gasoline and diesel engine variants are plug-in hybrids, with electric-only ranges of up to 131 km (81 miles).

The GLC Coupe competes against premium crossovers, including the BMW X4, Porsche Macan, Infiniti QX55 and Audi Q5 Sportback.

A new four-link front suspension and a multilink independent rear suspension deliver improved ride comfort and handling, Mercedes said.

    Rugged DNA

The sporty crossover is geared to go off-road.

In off-road mode, the GLC Coupe's central display offers a virtual view under the front of the vehicle to help the driver detect obstacles such as large stones or deep potholes sooner. Also displayed are gradient and inclination information and the steering angle of the front wheels.

The GLC Coupe features a simulated chrome under guard, roof rails painted in black and optional running boards. The headlights connect to the radiator grille, delivering a muscular look.

    Luxe interior

But the interior is all luxury.

A 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch central display dominate the dashboard in the redesigned GLC Coupe.

The standard AMG Line package includes Mercedes' latest MBUX infotainment system, heated seats for drivers and passengers, and Burmester 3D Surround System.

The optional MBUX Augmented Video for navigation superimposes house numbers and traffic lights on images from the front camera, making navigation more manageable.

With a length of 4763 mm, the GLC Coupe is 31 mm longer and 5 mm higher than its predecessor. The width is the same at 1890 mm.
