Man dead, another hurt after falling off train
Ranchi: One person was killed and another suffered injuries after they fell from the Howrah-bound Ispat Express near the Chakradharpur railway station in West Singhbhum, railway officials said on Sunday.
The incident took place at about 1:30 pm when the 12872 down Titlagarh–Howrah Ispat Express was crossing the Lota Pahar railway station and headed to Chakradharpur.
Manish Kumar Pathak, the senior divisional commercial manager of the Chakradharpur railway division of the SER, said, “The injured passenger stated that he was sitting on the footboard of the general compartment. The train, while crossing Lota Pahar, jerked and a passenger standing at the gate lost his balance. He grabbed the collar of the passenger who was sitting on the footboard. Both of them tumbled out.” The deceased, in his thirties, could not be identified.
