It may have been a somewhat anti-climactic evening for the Irish, but last night’s Oscars were generally hailed as a good-natured, celebratory evening packed with feelgood moments.

Thankfully - at least for the ceremony’s organisers - there was a distinct lack of disastrous or controversial moments like last year’s Slapgate.
