Paul Mescal brought retro silhouettes to the 95th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night suited up in a Gucci ensemble and a romantic red-pinned rosette. The actor is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor In a Leading Role, which recognizes his performance in A24’s film “Aftersun.”
Mescal donned a sharp double-breasted blazer that featured a savor of satin fabric. Adjacent to the left shoulder, he wore a red rose and the Faune et Flore de Cartier High Jewelry brooch along with a butterfly bow tie.

Mescal’s dress pants were flared with a straight-leg fit as fashion stylist Felicity Kay opted to accentuate the silhouette with a thickly cuffed hem.
For accessories, the actor wore the 18-karat yellow gold Cartier Juste un Clou earring and the Cartier Privé Tank Chinoise watch with a leather strap.
The actor rang in the Oscar nomination with patent-leather dress shoes. The glossy finish was favored amongst many red carpet arrivals, including Keith Urban, Oscar-nominated actor Brendan Fraser, Austin Butler and more.

In “Aftersun,” Mescal plays father to an 11-year-old, where their relationship is reflected in a vulnerable light. The actor had previously worked on the series “Normal People” with actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, a series adapted by the namesake novel written by Sally Rooney.
The annual Oscars celebrates film, cinematography and the artists who bring characters to life. This year, Jimmy Kimmel hosts the show. Performances include Rihanna and Lady Gaga, and presenters include Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Janelle Monáe and more. For the 95th annual ceremony, the red carpet was swapped for a champagne color due to an aesthetic choice to enhance the photography during the arrivals. The champagne carpet is the first to change from red since the 33rd Oscars in 1961.
