15 Naga rebels laid down their weapons at an event in presence of Arunachal CM Pema Khandu. The cadres who surrendered belonged to the Eastern Naga National Government, including its chief Tosha Mossang. Surrender of cadres followed weeks of offensive and diplomatic steps against the ENNG. Speaking on the occasion Arunachal CM Pema Khandu said that the surrender is a major milestone for PM Modi’s goal to make Northeast insurgency free. He recalled that in the last 9 years, many insurgent groups have laid down arms and they are in talks with the government.
